When it comes to compound objects my favorite one to use is sweep ( sweep is a tool that allows you imprint a pattern and change the shape of a 3d objects) mainly because you can be more creative when using it and it also can help you create cool designs for different things such as tiles for the floor or ceiling, in my sweep assignment when I had to create a mirror is an example of using the sweep to create a cool design for a certain thing; but though this tool is fun to use it isn't the most practical tool that could be used the better more useful would be bloobmesh mainly, because the tool can be used within a wide variety of situations such as creating a body of water, creating furniture, certain (unrealistic) trees. The use of the bloobmesh tool can be seen on the couch that I had created which though it looks fake the technique can still be applied to many different kinds of scenarios. Another reason I choose these two items is that both of them are easy and quick to use once you learn how to use them. Though for both these tools I don't believe that they can be used in anything then basic furniture or terrain I can't view them to create a character or anything man-made such as roads and towers but the tool is both quite easy to use and is quite versatile when professionally skilled with them.

The first few weeks of game design have been quite stressful we have been working on assignments that require a lot of time and prior knowledge, most of the assignments I have been able to finish on time but some occasions I would have to use time outside of class to get the assignment completed. In class, we have also begun to work on hand drawing skill which I am glad to be doing because in my drawing I have been struggling with anatomy so I feel like with the way class has been going so far this will be a very interesting year when it comes to 3d modeling and creating digital art.
Currently, within my game design class, I have learned many things about the game industry, job interviews, and the job application process. I have learned about the information that you would need when applying for a job such as how to create the paperwork that you would need when applying for a job a resume and a cover letter is what an employer wants to see; before this assignment, I did not know how to create any documentation for when applying for a job so I am glad we have learned this. From what I have learned a resume is a summary of your work experience, and a cover letter is a detailed summary of your work experience as it relates to your job. Though a cover letter is not required it is recommended to make to help you convince your future employer why they should heir you, and depending on the job you are applying for a portfolio would be a good item to have since it highlights your artistic talent and capabilities. A resume states the facts – who, what, when, and how, as well as details on skills, education, and work history, resumes can also have optional sections, such as an objective summary statement, skills, or career highlights. There are different types of resumes: chronological, functional, and combination. A chronological resume is quite common it is where you list your work experience in reverse chronological order, from the most to the least recent. A functional resume is when you list your work experience in reverse chronological order, from the most to the least recent. Then a combination resume is when you list your skills and experience before your employment history. Before this research, I didn't know any of this information so I'm glad I was able to educate my self a on how to get a job and I hope this information could help you to. For my upcoming year in game design, I am looking forward to the many new 3d modeling skills we will be learning some of those skills I hope will be involving character design. Another 3d modeling concept I hope we dive more into would be working with texture so that we can begin to create more realistic models; exploring new 3d modeling Softwares and learning how to create architectural designs is another 3d modeling skill I am looking forward to learning; I also hope next year we begin to explore creating actual games.

For my summer assignment, I had decided to work in the 3d program known as a blender; my work in blender started with me working on a chess piece model that would help me better understand the new 3d interface I was working with, but to have more practice I started working on at what I thought at first was a simple donut but turning out to be a long and complicated assignment especially with my lack of knowledge on the tools required to make this model.
While working on the 3d donut I learned many new tools and materials that I applied in a blender such as learning new key codes to help with navigating blender better and how to work with material editing (nodes).

For my summer assignment I have decided to work on my 3d modeling skills by using the program blender, using the blender program allowed me to hone my 3d modeling skills, but to be able to work with blender I had to fully understand the applications and capabilities of the new program I was working with. To help me understand the program I began with working on a simple 3d model chess piece; creating the chess piece was a very minimalistic task that required no prior knowledge of the program the only challenging aspect I encountered when working with blender was figuring out how to convert the 3d model from its original blender format to a jpg or png format and having the image rendered and scaled to size. From my experience with blender, I learned the basic skills needed to create a 3d model, and I learned the different ways to apply the scale tool within its programs.

For the past year In DDA (Digital Design and animation) I have been able to work in an assortment of different softwares such as photoshop, illustrator, 3d max, and more. Each of these programs provided me with a different expierence suchs as working with 3d modeling, creating videos, working with audio, and even learning to create my on animations; out of all these animations the one I believe I had gotten the most out of would have to be working with 3d modeling mainly because, the reason I wanted to take this class is because I was able to learn how to work with 3d models and learn how to create and manipulate them. Another reason this is a skill that I believe to be most useful is because 3d model will be the main aspect of our learning next year so even though it was useful to learn now, it will end be and essential skill I shall end up needing next year. The most rewarding experience I have had in this years DDA class would be the group video project we had to do in quarter 3, I find that the group project was a rewarding experience because I was able to work and collaborate with a group of people to create an assignment that I am actually quite proud of and even though creating this project applied a lot of unneeded stress the lesson that was provided was quite useful in understanding the balance that must be applied when working with other people, and that the end result when this balance is applied is outstanding. Skill that I know I shall be taking into the future would be the previous skill I had mentioned of working with a group and understanding the balance that must be applied to be productive and having a satisfying outcome, and for future jobs that I am interested in 3d modeling will also be another useful skill that I shall most likely be applying in the future.
Currently in game design the quarter is about to end and I am frantically trying to turn all assignment that have been assigned such as the world animation and the project each assignment consists of me working with 3d modeling and animation, most of my current models consist of me working with a bitmap which helps me add detail and texture to an image to make it seem realistic, using this tool can help add depth and character to a scene, and a tip for using bitmapping you must “assign material selection” this was a step that I had kept on missing and without doing this it defeats the whole purpose of working with a bitmap because it wouldn't even be a bitmap.
Currently in game design I have been with 3d modeling and animation in 3d max. Working with 3d modeling was quite difficult because through out the entire process of me trying to figure out how to use bitmap I kept making tiny little mistakes that made the 3d modeling process much harder then it was meant to be and these set backs that kept on occuring made my time working with animations quite short, because when working with animation I was unable to move the model the way I wanted the to go so for almost an entire class period working creating for an assignment, I had to spend time just sitting at my desk trying to figure out why nothing was working and after a good amount of time when working with an animation I learned that when working with 3d modeling animation the animation picks the quickest route for animation to achieve it goal so when working with 3d animation you have to create cut of point and create multiple key frame to get the animation you want.
Lately in game design I have been working with 3d modeling in 3d max, when I first started working with 3d models I started of working with primitives, primitives where simple 3d modeling objects that I used to create 3d characters; while working with primitives I ahde to start working with edit polys so I would be able to create more detailed characters and objects, using edit poly allowed me to create a variety of 3d models such as tanks, 3d characters, and a spaceship. Once I was able to grasp 3d modeling I began to head into a different field of 3d modeling , this form of 3d modelings caused me to work with splines which is basically using 2d objects to create 3d modeling so far I have only worked with splines to create different home objects such as a table, vase, pot, and wine glasses, working with splines in my opinion is a bit harder than working with primitives because when you create your objects when you I attempt to lathe I find the reaction is quite unpredictable, but working with all these different tools and from 3d modeling my 3d modeling skills have most definitely grown, when I first began I struggled with creating simple objects and creating such as the cartoon head and the spaceship took a long period of time but have the chance to spend time practicing so much have made my skin grow to the point where I could create both assignment in probably one class period and probably and more to the original assignment.
