So currently I am halfway through the school year and in-game design we currently been working on a lot of scene designs such as the desert project and currently the neighborhood assignment we were given and due to the length of each assignment each one take me a long period of time to complete and for most I have to stay after school to complete these assignments because since game design is such a fast-acting class and with break coming up and the also reports coming our right after my break I have to keep up with assignments that are currently pilling up at my desk.

For my upcoming year in game design, I am looking forward to the many new 3d modeling skills we will be learning some of those skills I hope will be involving character design. Another 3d modeling concept I hope we dive more into would be working with texture so that we can begin to create more realistic models; exploring new 3d modeling Softwares and learning how to create architectural designs is another 3d modeling skill I am looking forward to learning; I also hope next year we begin to explore creating actual games.
Tutorials, Olav3D. “[2.79] Blender Beginner Tutorial Glass Ball Cycles.” YouTube, YouTube, 18 Aug. 2016, www.youtube.com/watch?v=643CAA5Zh_8&t=125s. For the past year In DDA (Digital Design and animation) I have been able to work in an assortment of different softwares such as photoshop, illustrator, 3d max, and more. Each of these programs provided me with a different expierence suchs as working with 3d modeling, creating videos, working with audio, and even learning to create my on animations; out of all these animations the one I believe I had gotten the most out of would have to be working with 3d modeling mainly because, the reason I wanted to take this class is because I was able to learn how to work with 3d models and learn how to create and manipulate them. Another reason this is a skill that I believe to be most useful is because 3d model will be the main aspect of our learning next year so even though it was useful to learn now, it will end be and essential skill I shall end up needing next year. The most rewarding experience I have had in this years DDA class would be the group video project we had to do in quarter 3, I find that the group project was a rewarding experience because I was able to work and collaborate with a group of people to create an assignment that I am actually quite proud of and even though creating this project applied a lot of unneeded stress the lesson that was provided was quite useful in understanding the balance that must be applied when working with other people, and that the end result when this balance is applied is outstanding. Skill that I know I shall be taking into the future would be the previous skill I had mentioned of working with a group and understanding the balance that must be applied to be productive and having a satisfying outcome, and for future jobs that I am interested in 3d modeling will also be another useful skill that I shall most likely be applying in the future.
Currently in game design the quarter is about to end and I am frantically trying to turn all assignment that have been assigned such as the world animation and the project each assignment consists of me working with 3d modeling and animation, most of my current models consist of me working with a bitmap which helps me add detail and texture to an image to make it seem realistic, using this tool can help add depth and character to a scene, and a tip for using bitmapping you must “assign material selection” this was a step that I had kept on missing and without doing this it defeats the whole purpose of working with a bitmap because it wouldn't even be a bitmap.
Currently in game design I have been with 3d modeling and animation in 3d max. Working with 3d modeling was quite difficult because through out the entire process of me trying to figure out how to use bitmap I kept making tiny little mistakes that made the 3d modeling process much harder then it was meant to be and these set backs that kept on occuring made my time working with animations quite short, because when working with animation I was unable to move the model the way I wanted the to go so for almost an entire class period working creating for an assignment, I had to spend time just sitting at my desk trying to figure out why nothing was working and after a good amount of time when working with an animation I learned that when working with 3d modeling animation the animation picks the quickest route for animation to achieve it goal so when working with 3d animation you have to create cut of point and create multiple key frame to get the animation you want.
Lately in game design I have been working with 3d modeling in 3d max, when I first started working with 3d models I started of working with primitives, primitives where simple 3d modeling objects that I used to create 3d characters; while working with primitives I ahde to start working with edit polys so I would be able to create more detailed characters and objects, using edit poly allowed me to create a variety of 3d models such as tanks, 3d characters, and a spaceship. Once I was able to grasp 3d modeling I began to head into a different field of 3d modeling , this form of 3d modelings caused me to work with splines which is basically using 2d objects to create 3d modeling so far I have only worked with splines to create different home objects such as a table, vase, pot, and wine glasses, working with splines in my opinion is a bit harder than working with primitives because when you create your objects when you I attempt to lathe I find the reaction is quite unpredictable, but working with all these different tools and from 3d modeling my 3d modeling skills have most definitely grown, when I first began I struggled with creating simple objects and creating such as the cartoon head and the spaceship took a long period of time but have the chance to spend time practicing so much have made my skin grow to the point where I could create both assignment in probably one class period and probably and more to the original assignment.
Lately in game design we have been working with 3D modeling; 3D modeling is a technique used to create a 3D representation of an objects on a surface. Working with 3D modeling has not been that much of a challenge for me which should not have come as much of a surprise but since I have worked within the 3d modeling before it had very little challenges to offer me mainly the hardest part with working with 3d modeling was remembering all the shortcuts to use to make working with it much easier. My favorite part with working with 3d modeling is using 3d max because even though it is a new system we are using it is fairly straightforward and simple and there is no frustrating expect that have encountered, I also find that I like it because of its 3d expect meaning I like it because it supplies use with the objects to shape and create what we need instead of other software programs we have used such as photoshop and premiere that require you to use the line tool or something else to create 2d drawings, another aspect of 3d modeling is how little time restraints there are with 2d work everything to you at least 3 days to complete depending on the assignment while with 3d modeling an assignment can be complete within a day so getting a head is very easy to do. The work we have done so far makes me excited for next year because due to the lesser time restraint the class will feel much easier since I will most likely be able to get work in ahead of time.
Lately in game design we have been working with different forms of motion graphics, we have worked with after effects, animation, and premiere. These there motion graphics all formed different challenges for me. The First motion graphic was after effects which in mots way was very simple, but for my first time using it was very complicated I remember when I was working on and assignment where I had to make a video showcasing an avatar I made and 5 different things about me; though there was very little to the assignment it still took me a long period of time, because of the effects that we had to apply to the video. The effect was a simple moving line across my name but due to complications I had to work on that simple line for a whole day trying to get my effect but since I didn't work with effects for long so I am not able to elaborate. The next motion graphic that I worked with was animation, this application is one that I have been unable to master because of how much time and dedication animation requires you to have. Animation is also the only motion graphic that I have worked with that requires you to hand draw pieces of your artwork to animate this application because very annoying very quickly. The last motion graphic that I have worked with is premiere I just began to work with premiere 5 days ago and frankly it is my favorite of all the motion graphic because it is the simplest, the hardest part about premiere is keeping track of your timing but since I don't have enough insight to go on to give a full scale picture I will have to cut myself of here.
"What is 3D animation"? 3D animation is the use of models that are built on various apps such as 3D max, the models created are 3D figures that are layered with a virtual skin. 3D animation has a variety of job opportunities, these opportunities consist of working as an animator, 3D modeler, or 3D character designer. Though 3D animation/modeling is mainly known to be used for consumer usage what interests me about this topic, is how it has jobs that lie outside the entertainment industry such as: engineering, marketing, medical... (etc). As a student working in game design, I have yet to tackle the challenge known as 3D animation, but there are techniques that I have learned from my work with Photoshop and Illustrator that can be applied to the field, such as my work with computer graphics and out skill of detail observation, though if I'm looking for more innate skill which relate toward the unit I have yet to dive into anything that I believe can make an impact when I reach this topic.

Within bitmap there is an assortment of tools such as the lasso tool, the fill bucket tool, and many more; but my favorite out of all these tools is the quick select tool. Quick select is a tool that allows you to select any area within the boundaries of your image. Quick select is generally used for painting a large region's within an image, this allows for you to colorize an image faster, than you would, by using the paint tool. These characteristics of the quick are the main reason I favor it more than the other tools, though there are some frustrating things you will encounter when using this tool such as how when selecting a piece of your image it on some occasions select's a larger portion of your image, that you don't want to be selected, or in other cases it doesn't select enough your image; but even though it may be frustrating at times, but without it projects would take a lot more time and effort that in many cases, I don't have enough to spare. *Quick select and its uses *What quick select is used for *Why I use quick select Citations: “Make Quick Selections in Photoshop.” Conceptos De Modos De Color En Photoshop, helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/making-quick-selections.html. |
